Why do the americans remind the Mexicans of Cortes?

Americans don't remind "Mexicans of Cortes ". In history explorers are studied and Cortes is studied because he was one of the first Europeans to land in North American and meet the Native Americans. He was part of the history of the area. History is not always pretty or tied up neat and sweet. Man is cruel and the ways he has treated his fellow man need to be known. To ignore history is the repeat it.
