The first two people landed, stepped out, and walked on the moon

in July, 1969.

Shortly before that, there were manned missions that orbited the moon

but didn't land.

The first people who went to the moon and landed were the crew of Apollo 11, consisting on Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Buzz Aldrin. The landing took place on Sunday 20th July, 1969.
