The Byzantine Empire was greatly weakened by the Fourth Crusade in 1204, which captured large swathes of the empire, including Constantinople. Though the Queen of Cities and much of the lost land was eventually reclaimed, the Latins had severely damaged both the economy and the military capabilities of what they had conquered initially- indeed, Constantinople was nearly deserted. The Byzantines were further weakened by a series of civil wars in the 14th century, and finally by the growth of the Ottoman Turks, who finally laid siege to Constantinople in 1453 and captured it, thus finally ending the Byzantine Empire.

The fall of the Byzantines is a long and complex event. They were gradually worn down fromrepeated attacks from the Turks, eljunks, and ottomans. After many years, the empire was reduced to the city of Byzantium. The city eventually fell to a siege in the 1400s.

Greece fell when the Roman Empire envaded Greece and changed their religion. Wasnt a good Idea though.

I'll Say! I mean even though it was reletively the same, same gods different names, and the same legends, just from a different point of view. After all, Aeneas did Introduce more cultre and language into Italia when he married the princess in the greek legend of Troy. So that's Probably why the two civilizations were pretty similar.

This is not true about Greece. Long before Rome was ever a power, the Persians conquered Greece. The Persians were stronger at that time. Rome fell for many reasons such as too many wars, rise of Christianity and rise of Mongol Empire which drove the barbarians into Europe. Any Nation that gets too selfish and arrogant falls. Nations are placed by One who is the greatest of all. See St. Thomas Aquinas and proof there is a G-d.

There were many causes of the decline of the Byzantine Empire. The division and separation of its religion, Orthodox Christianity, with the Catholic Papacy of the west would prove lethal on the long run. The loss of the theme system which provided the empire with immediate military protection in case of invasions. The loss of Asia Minor to the Turks (Asia Minor was the main recruiting ground of the empire). And the Crusades which wound up dismantling the empire.

The sacking of Constantinople by the Crusaders weakened its defensive position allowing Ottoman forces to gain the upper hand and overtake the city.
