This is a highly debated topic. In general the people that make up the Cherokee have been in that area since the last ice age: 15,000 to 50,000 (or more) years ago. No one disputes the "clovis" culture (apx.15,000 years ago) but some digs (topper) have found disputed evidence at 50,000 years ago.

∙ 7y agoThe Cherokee lived in Georgia until they were forcibly walked from Georgia to Oklahoma by the United States government to a reservation. This was called the Trail of Tears because men, women, and children died.
