The exact time that the practice of polygamy began among the Mormons is disputed. Evidence exists that Joseph Smith knew it was God's will as early as 1831, however the revelation was not recorded until 1843. Before 1844 it was practiced by only a select few members and many members were completely unaware of it. Once the Mormons arrived in Utah in 1847, the practice became much more prevalent.
1830
No. The Amish, like most Christians, reject the practice of polygamy.

They should already be doing so if they are attending to the temple covenants they have made.
Mormons are NOT Chrisitan. they'll claim they're a denomination, but a Christian is defined as following Jesus Christ. one MAIN aspect of a Christian is believing Jesus Christ is God. The trinity is absolute and fundamental to our faith. without it we cannot be saved. The mormon faith believes that Jesus Christ ascended into God hood aka working for your salvation. which is not true Ephesians 2:8 "For by GRACE are ye saved through FAITH, NOT of yourselves. not of works lest any man should boast."
