To gain its independence from the United States, the Philippines sent a number of missions to the US Congress. The first of these missions was led by Manuel L. Quezon. This did not succeed. Another mission was led by Sergio Osmeña and Manuel Roxas, named as the OSROX mission. This was successful and led to the eventual independence of the Philippines.
