odds are if you own a 96 anything and it hasn't been done yet the answer is either A.) long overdue, or B.) now :) general rule of thumb for any vehicle is 100k...some manufacturers say 80K but mostly 100....

The Gates book and Ford lists 60,000 miles as the recommend change interval. This is an interference engine so I would change it every 60,000 miles as recommended.
