Your best bet is to follow the recommendations set forth by Chevrolet, you can find these in your owners manual or by calling your local Chevrolet dealer. There is probably a Change Oil light that will illuminate when it is due for an oil change.
edit: Do not wait for a light to come on. That is simply a reminder to prevent you from going longer. Chevrolet recommends using a synthetic blend SAE 5W30 oil, replace every 3,000 miles or 3 months.
