Depends how you ride it. Usually though, I change mine every 2k miles with a new filter on every other change. If you are constantly at high temps (sitting in traffic alot) or high revs (racing) you should change it more frequesntly becomes the oil will break down faster and lose its viscosity. You can switch to full synthetic if you want to spend the extra money and it might allow you to squeeze out some more mileage between changes.
