I recommend you use a quality synthetic oil and quality filter such as Purolator, Bosch, or Wix. It really depends on how you ride as to how often you change it. But no matter how you ride or how far make sure you change it at least once a year. If you ride only short trips then change it more ofter as in around every 3,000 miles. If you ride long trips then you can go to 5,000 miles.
