Switch to reserve when you run out of gasoline in the normal position.

Need to replace the neutral safety switch, or may just need adjusted.
There os a knob on the left side of the machine. It has a black knob and a few positions reading "ON" , "RES" , & "PRI" On is for normal operation. RES is to switch to the reserve fuel, and PRI is to prime the engine if it is cold to start. Hope this helps.
the backup light switch is part of the neutral start switch. it is located behind the shift lever at the bottom front of the transmission. it has about 8 wires coming out of the plug.
Yes, there is a lockout switch that will not allow the starter to engage if the engine is not in Neutral or Park. If that switch fails, is loose or not adjusted properly the engine will not start.
When did they start making yamaha banshees
to start the dirt bike you press the red switch on the handle. then make sure the little black lever by the engine is down. then make sure the fuel is open.
Talk about identity crisis... This thing has 3 names:Neutral safety start switchTransmission range sensorManual lever position sensor/switchUs old-timers probably relate more to the neutral start switch though...Another name for it is PRNDL switch. Sounded out like "perndal switch"
The Big Bear has a decompression lever on the head of the motor looking down on the head it is at the 2 Oclock position. It is a small lever that kisks back into position on the throw of the motor. This lever allows you to pull the piston to just before top deadcenter then get a full pull.
It means you left the second gear start switch on.You change the position of the switch to change between normal (light is off) and second gear start (light is on). Turn the switch off, and the light will go off.If you didn't know there was a switch, look for it. I have seen it on the lower left side if the dash (sometimes it just says SGS or 2GS), the center console, as a push-on-push-off button on the shift lever, and as a slide switch on the column shift handle. On a few European cars, moving the shift lever into specified gear positions in sequence while the car is stopped turns second gear start on or off.
Make sure everything is filled and running right! Put the key in then turn it to the on postion. Put the choke a little if needed give the gas lever a few pumps and hit start, should fire, if not you got a problem!
check the play in your rear brake lever, may be too tight and activating the brake light switch. or the front brake lever may be depressing the switch in the control housing. or you have a bad switch. or, when you rewired it, after installing that cool skull tail light, you got the running light wire and the brake light wire backwards.
