There are enough wars going on now that we don't need another one. Troops are fighting throughout the Middle East, India and Pakistan are at each other, Israel and its Arab neighbours are fighting, African countries have inter-country and civil wars. If you consider parameters for a world war there are probably enough countries involved presently to constitute an undeclared world war.
