How did itachi gives power to Sasuke?
After Sasuke battled Itachi, it was said by Madara Uchiha, AKA Tobi, that Itachi died on purpose. Madara stated that Itachi wanted to battle Sasuke to finally give him what he wanted. During the battle, Sasuke managed to go up against all of Itachi's Mangekyo Sharingan techniques and stay safe. Towards the end of the battle, Itachi starts to reach out to Sasuke to get his eyes so he could have the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan to keep from going blind. Itachi used his ultimate jutsu, Susanoo and blocked all of Sasuke's attacks, even though it came with the cost of killing him. When Sasuke was backed into a wall, Itachi simply tapped Sasuke on the forehead and said, "Sorry Sasuke, there won't be a next time" and dropped to the ground. While waking up, he finds Madara and when he sees Madara's Sharingan, Sasuke immediately uses Amaterasu, unlocking his Mangekyo Sharingan.

LOL!, no he killed it with the help of Uchiha madara since some of the targets were too strong, second, he kiled them all, because it was orders from the elders of the village that was given to the only ambu they thought had enough strengh to kill them all, and he didnt kill sasuke cause he loved his little brother too much and failed at killing him, when itachi runs away from the scene, sasuke throws a kunai at him, and that kunai hits itachi's head band creating that scratched simbol, and when he looks back to sasuke, he sheds a tear because, the person he loved the most, his little brother, attacked him with the intension to kill him, if you don't believe me, read the manga, or see shippuden episode 140 or so, and yeah he was like from 13, and he joined akatsuki just to work as a double agent, since he sent information about akatsuki every so to konoha, and he told the hokage NOT to tell the truth to sasuke, cause if he did, sasuke would take revenge on the village and not on itachi, and itachi wanted this because he loved his village a lot, and also, Sasuke achieves his goal to kill itachi and gets all of Itachi's mangekyou sharingan tecniques AND his own mangekyou, but after that, Uchiha Madara, the only other uchiha that wasnt killed, tells sasuke the truth about itachi, and now sasuke wants revenge on the village, ALL OF IT AND WANTS TO WIPE OUT THE ENTIRE VILLAGE OF KONOHA FOR ORDERING ITACHI TO WIPE OUT THE UCHIHA CLAN, well that's all, and sorry for going off topic but i wanted to say this just so the guy that said that itachi did it to join akatsuki know what really happened. ~By Black Ace1809~

Yes. :) Extra info: On naruto.com i think in episodes 136-139 they are fighting. sasuke kills Itachi and later sasuke finds out that itachi transfered his ocular powers (Mongekyo Sharingan) to sasuke.Sasuke has already killed Itachi.

Does Sasuke Have the curse mark forever?
No. Sasuke will be freed from his curse mark when he fights Itachi. Itachi actually loves Sasuke. He had to destroy his clan because the Uchiha clan was planning to bring chaos. He killed everyone but he could not kill Sasuke. Itachi was planning to make Sasuke a great ninja, so, he acted as if he hated Sasuke so that Sasuke will train and grow stronger then himself. When Sasuke fought Itachi, Itachi was the one who released him from the curse mark. Sadly, Sasuke kills Itachi in the same battle not knowing the truth of his brother that has been lying to Sasuke all this time. Actually, Itachi seals Orochimaru with the Totsuka Blade (the blade of sealing) with Susano o' and the curse mark is gone.
