Goes into left hand ring finger for women.
Left
yes, usually women wear the engagement ring with the wedding ring on her left hand's ring finger together.
No, once a woman is given an engagement ring it is hers to keep, but many women would prefer to give the ring back as they are no longer engaged. Also, even if the man gets the engagement ring back it would be crass to give it to another woman should he become engaged again. If the engagement ring was a family heirloom then it would be kind of her to return the ring.
One, on the left-hand ring finger. Engaged women would wear one ring, however on the right-hand ring finger.
Men do not traditionally wear engagement rings as they only wear wedding rings, it is only women that wear engagement rings. However, I would assume that this would be the ring finger, the same as women which is the left hand, next to the little finger.
In Western Culture women wear their engagement ring on their left hand on the finger next to their pinkie. Some European women wear their engagement ring on their right middle finger or perhaps the right finger next to the pinkie finger.
== == You can wear your anniversary band on your finger first, then a wedding band or gem ring and engagement ring. Since that is a lot of rings for some women's fingers you can wear it on the index finger of the left hand or the ringer (next to the pinky) on the right hand.
Once you're married, tradition dictates that your engagement band be moved back to the third finger on your left hand. When you do so, your wedding ring should remain closest to your heart (where your spouse placed it on your wedding day) and your engagement ring is placed next to the wedding ring.
Answer Well as far as I know it means nothing unless there is some religion or culture that I am not familiar with that does that. For a long time I wore a diamond ring that was my grandmother's on my right ring finger. It was amazing the number of people who thought I was married. I thought it was fairly common knowledge that in the US the wedding ring/engagement ring goes on the left ring finger. Some women just like diamond rings and they will wear them on the right ring finger if they are single. After a divorce or the death of their husband, some women wear their wedding rings on their right ring finger.
Women are supposed to wear the wedding band, followed by the engagement ring after they are married. The rings normally come in a set and are made to be worn together. Some women though only wear their wedding band as their engagement ring may be too much or bulky on the finger with both of them. It is a personal preference though.
If you already have children, a promise ring can still be worn on either the left or right hand. Most women like to wear it on the left ring finger as the promise rings gives the representation that it is temporarily taking the place of an engagement ring.
