energy is not released
Chemical energy
Energy of the molecules increase in the state of vaporization.
that one kind of energy that gives energy to the thing with energy to give it more energy.
This is latent heat. When a liquid freezes heat is released, and when it melts the same amount of energy must be supplied. Similarly when a liquid changes to a vapor, or when a vapor condenses, heat must be supplied or is released. Latent heat varies from one substance to another, and can be quantified as so many calories per gram or kilogram, you can find data in reference tables
In gases their kinetic energy rises
In atoms, whenever energy is supplied to it an electron or the required group of electrons traverses to higher level shells.
The energy supplied during latent heat is used to break/weaken intermolecular bonds and NOT to increase the kinetic energy of the molecules.
Thermal energy because you are using heat. The thermal energy can be supplied by an external heat source or by electric it generating microwaves which excite the water molecules to produce heat.
Apart from osmosis and diffusion the major mechanism for individual molecules to move is by active transport. Active transport is the movement of molecules against their concentration gradient (from a low to a high concentration) using energy supplied by the cell. It differs from diffusion which can only work down a concentration gradient ie from a high concentration to a low concentration. It also needs a source of energy supplied by a living cell, which is not needed for difusion. In cells, energy for active transport is supplied by respiration. Twenty percent of the worlds energy is supplied by natural gas.
energy is not released
The energy must be supplied to the solid so that it melts.
If there is energy in an electric motor (electricity is being supplied to it). it will be turing/running. When there is no energy in it (being supplied to it) it will stop.
The energy must be applied to the phase change before it can heat the substance
It doesn't because during boiling, the temperature remains constant and so does the kinetic energy of the molecules. The latent heat supplied is used to do work against intermolecular forces of attraction while separating molecules such that the molecular potential energy increases. Some energy is also used to do work in pushing back the atmosphere.
The atoms in a solid are arranged in closely packed. Lot of energy is required to break the bond between atoms. Supplied energy to the solid is loose in the form of vibrations and heat. They vibrate back and forth
