That's the first place I would go is to the police officer who wrote the report. Let them know the insurance lapsed and ask them to check on a current insurance. If the policy they gave the office is not valid I would pretty much guarantee that they don't have insurance. You can call the owner of the vehicle from the report as well. Most likely you will have to turn it over to your insurance company if you have uninsured motorists coverage. Your company will pay the claim and go after the other party. They will do the legwork and pay all legal fees involved with collecting from the other person.

If you have had an accident with this person then his insurance information should be present on the accident report. If you have no claim on this person's auto insurance then it is not your business whether or not he has insurance.
First, you cannot find out what insurance company another person uses as this is a privacy issue. If you have had an accident with this person, the insurance company will be listed on the accident report. This is your only option for getting the insurance company name, unless the person wishes to tell you.
If you were involved in an accident with this person then their insurance information will be listed on the accident report. If you were not involved in an accident then it is not your business who they have insurance with. Much of this is covered by the privacy laws so if you really have to know ask the person.
the insurance of the person responsible for the accident
dont do nothing just relax and watch a movie
There is nothing much you can do if you are involved in accident with an uninsured car. There are reason why the other person do not get insurance as it could be because of his economic problems. A recent study showed that there are huge number of people in US who do not contain their auto or car insurance.
I am sure that there are examples to the contrary, but the car owner is the one responsible for the insurance. It's your car. It's your responsibility to make sure it is insured......it would also be your responsibility to make sure whom ever you loaned it to were licensed and legal.
The state of Connecticut requires car insurance. The law requires that drivers carry liability coverage of $20,000 per person and $40,000 per accident for bodily injury, as well as $10,000 per accident for property damage liability. Those are the minimum requirements. Drivers are urged to consider higher limits. Insurance companies are required to report lapsed policies to the state authorities. http://www.ct.gov/cid/cwp/view.asp?q=390260
No. If the accident was your fault, you can not get money from the other person's car insurance.
Yes, If the accident was your fault, then it is your fault. Whether or not they have insurance has nothing to do with who's at fault, or who actually caused the accident.
