to exicute this correctly; first, you have to be on a one way street. Then the street that you are turning onto must also be a one way street. There for all traffic wanting to make a left hand turn on red, can do so because they are not required to cross oncoming traffic.

It is legal for all traffic to make left-hand turns when the traffic light is red if it is a designated "permissive turn" intersection that allows left turns on red after stopping and yielding to oncoming traffic. These intersections are rare and typically have signs indicating this permission. Otherwise, making a left turn on a red light is generally illegal unless otherwise specified by local traffic laws.

What should you in a malfunctioning traffic signal?

If a traffic signal is malfunctioning, treat it as a four-way stop. Approach the intersection cautiously, come to a complete stop, and yield the right of way to other vehicles. Use hand signals or communicate with other drivers to ensure safe passage through the intersection.

If you stop at a light can you then proceed if no traffic?

If you're in a country which drives on the right, you can make a right turn at a stop light (unless it's marked otherwise), and some jurisdictions will allow left hand turns. But you must wait until that light turns green before proceeding straight ahead.

Should you let the first car facing you make a left turn at traffic light when light turns green?

I recall that NY State published a new rule (maybe 20 yrs ago) which stated that you should allow the first car facing you to make a left hand turn when the light turns green. Don't know it that is still in affect.

What is a legal U-turn?

A legal U-turn is one that is not prohibited. Many streets have signs indicating that U-turns are not allowed, often posted in left hand turn lanes. In some traffic patterns, a specific U-turn lane or place has been provided in the median, often to eliminate the need for left hand turns. A "Michigan left" is used in that state to indicate a place where you turn right, and then do a U-turn in the lanes provided.

Is a left hand turn into traffic at an uncontrolled intersection legal?

Depending on a city, but it doesn't mean you have right of way if there is one or multiple uncomming cars. Then it would be an illegal turn.

Is it legal to make a left turn at a red signal in Georgia?

This answer depends on many variables regarding what light system is being used. This answer is formulated on basic rules of the road. If there is a designated left hand turning lane with it's own light, that light controls all left hand turns regardless of what the right lane or lanes can do based on the light(s) controlling the right hand lane or lanes. If both the through traffic and turning traffic on the same side is controlled by one set of lights operating in sync (all lanes green at same time), vehicles turning left can advance and make the turn as long as there is safe clearing distance for oncoming traffic. Many drivers in the left lane at a busy intersection move into the intersection at a green light, with enough distance for any oncoming traffic to make a left turn if allowed; this way, at least 1 or 2 cars will get through during busy traffic times because any car past the crosswalk area must complete the turn before the cross traffic can begin to move. Many left only turn lanes are controlled by their own light, especially at busy intersections. With a separate light, left turners can go on green even if through traffic on the same side has a red light. Typically at these intersections, both sides of the road have a left turning lane with separate light to control traffic, and both sides of the road can make their turns simultaneously (baring any other obstacles or conditions). For any intersection controlled by lights that change direction depending on traffic needs (or change lane designations) at different times of the day, drivers must pay close attention to lights and road markings. Lanes like this exist around Cleveland, Ohio. Two lanes in both directions are operated normally, with a center lane that changes at different times of the day. So, for example, during rush hour traffic, the middle lane's lights may only allow through traffic and no left turns whatsoever. But at non-peak times (most of the day), they may (or may not) allow left turns at certain intersections. It was quite confusing the first time I drove such a rode in Cleveland; it certainly kept both of my hands glued to the steering wheel and foot poised to brake if I suddenly found another driver not following the lights correctly!

When making a left hand turn at a traffic light you have merged out into the intersection but there is no clear time to make a safe left the light goes to red. Is it legal to make the turn?

The answer is yes. As long as you have ENTERED the intersection BEFORE the red light, and you CANNOT safely turn left due to traffic, then a left turn on red is completely legal. This is also because all cars are supposed to be cleared of an intersection upon any red light, to keep traffic flow at the optimum pace. However, in some jurisdictions you are required to wait at the stop line in your lane thereby not entering the intersection until it is safe to turn. You should check the laws and practices in your jurisdiction to avoid receiving traffic violations. You should take extra precautions when traveling out of your usual area such as in another state. Some states are harsh on out-of-state drivers.

Can you make a left turn onto a one way street at a red light from two way traffic street?

If you are making a left turn onto a one way street and the red signal is a circle not an arrow, the same rules apply as to right hand turns on a red light (it is legal after a full stop and checking for oncoming traffic). However if the signal is a red arrow, you cannot turn against it.

Why color of hand turns red when it covers torch light?

I believe it is because light tries to shine through anything that is very close to it. Some light even manages to barely pass through, or at least show on the other side. A hand has red flesh and blood in it, therefore, the palm of the hand will appear to glow red.
