mayans dont know crap about apocalypses , all it was is that the calander ended because they didnt plan that far ahead

Answer:

The word "apocalypse" has taken on a life of its own in these last days, that's far different from its originally inspired intent. "Apocalypse" simply means "revealing" or "Revelation," from which the famous last book of The Bible derives its name.

"The REVELATION ['apokalupsis'; apocalypse; or 'disclosure'] of Jesus Christ, which God [the Father] gave to Him, to shew His servants things which must shortly come to pass; and He sent and signified it by His angel unto His servant John: who bare record of the Word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all the things that he saw. Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the Words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand." (Rev.1:1-3)

So, the "apocalypse" is the "prophecy" Jesus gave to John in a dream or "vision" [see Num.12:6], to record for Christ's servants to read and study, regarding "things that are going to happen" in the future. And a "BLESSING" is called upon those who read it... and on those who hear its words... and on those who "keep" a wary eye on its development.

As for "when" the things in the prophecy are going to happen -- its prophetic events are a thing in progress.

Unfortunately for many people in this modern world... they have never bothered to read the "Apocalypse" to know what it's really about [future global events surrounding the time of Jesus' return to earth with the Kingdom of God, for which His servants should be watching, that they can know when to look up and see Him coming].

Instead... the word "apocalypse" has come to mean to most people: "utter global destruction"... or "doomsday"... or TEOTWAWKI, an acronym for: "The End Of The World As We Know It." All of which makes for great entertainment and a terrific draw at the local box office for certain sensational productions that play upon Hollywood's misappropriation of the word.

But then... it's not the first or last time that Hollywood has misrepresented the Bible.

Jesus intends the "Apocalypse" [Revelation] for "His servants." Those who have the Holy Spirit... who obey, have Faith, Believe and Trust in Him.

Yet, like all the rest of God's prophecies... we have to wait and watch for its development... and keep watching and praying... and "keeping" the words of the prophecy in our hearts and minds to know and understand what we're seeing when the end time draws to a close.

Or, as Jesus says: "Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man." (Luke 21:36)

The "things" mentioned in the "Apocalypse" that shall come to pass, again, is a prophetic work in progress. Some of it has been going on non-stop in the world since the "Four Horsemen" [the first four seals of Revelation chapter 6] have begun to ride: false christs and religions, wars, famines, pestilences, diseases, earthquakes... [see also; Matt.24:4-8 for Jesus' "apocalyptic" description of the Four Horsemen].

And some of it only now can be seen developing in the world as a major terrifying world religion has the nations, their governments, other religious beliefs and denominations... along with the world economy in turmoil: seal 5; the Great Tribulation.

If the question is calling for a specific "date" for Jesus' return to earth with His Kingdom; the "servants of God" will just have to keep watching... and praying... and keep trusting in the "disclosure" of their Master.

If it's asking "when is the world going to end"... those who aren't Christ's servants will have to trust the Mayan calendar... or a knowledgeable guru in their area whom they trust... or wait for the next silver screen sensation by some inspired Hollywood producer as to how he thinks the world will meet its "apocalyptic" end.

People of many cultures have written about a time of the cataclysmic end of the age of man. Currently there is much to do with the so-called Mayan apocalypse thought to be scheduled for 12-21-2012 though more leveled headed scholars find no association with the end of an age in the Mayan calendar.

Some erroneously call the Book of Revelation in the Bible the 'Apocalypse' or the unveiling/lifting of the veil - a revelation of the end of the world. But the Bible calls this time when Jesus will come again and establish the 'Kingdom of God' or His government as 'the Great Day of the Lord' and refers to it as the end of the age, the latter days, the end-time, in that day, etc...

Answer:No one knows, only the Father in heaven.
actually whoever converted the Mayan calender to ours was 50 to 100 years off. it has already happened or it will in 50 to 100 years from now. It said so on Yahoo.

no one knows for sure. when it happens u will surely know".

"Totally!Do you believe in all that global warming junk?I surely do NOT."

but yes it all depends on what happens. one day we could have an outbreak n an illness and people could turn into something similar. people CANNOT come back to life though, when they are dead. or during global warming (if it happens) our skin could change and our personalities.

-The time of which the world ends is unknown, as is the reason of which it will happen. It will definently not be similar to the happenings of Left 4 Dead, even though the Storyline was very well put together and they have a reason for all the zombie types.

Some ignorant person commented below of this response. I think it was very well put that the world will end unknowingly. It is stated in the Bible, but certainties can always be changed. It is said that God would like to start his creations a-new because of all the chaos that is recently occurring. He would like to demonstrate peace into this world, the way he had originally created but humans had to put a price on everything that he offered for free. Food, shelter, and the main gift of God...life. Death came upon us because of Adam and Eve. It was a nature and God had given us free will at the time.

-The apocolypse is unknown but it is said that the world will end in 2012 somewhat that year. The entire universe will be flooded of overcoming waters. We will die and experience death for the first time. God will create us again in heaven or hell and give us the oppurtunity to live the way he created us originally, not the way we please and death will take rest, for peace will overcome the world of God.

Your question supposes that an 'apocalypse' is bound to happen at sometime. Well it ain't necessarily so. We are masters of our own destiny. Sure, for some unfortunate people their own personal apocalypse has happened already in a war or accident of some sort. But for the world as a whole, the sooner we stop thinking every body should believe and act the same as us, and we respect other peoples way of life, and allow everyone to have a point of view, and treat everybody fairly as we ourselves would like to be treated (nobody is perfect), including men and women, then the sooner the cause for friction and trouble between people and countries is negated. If these simple sensible ideas were allowed to flourish, we could then concentrate on ways to repair the damage, as best we can, to our home this planet. We could certainly reduce our populations by not having so many children thereby reducing the pressure on water and food and finite resources like raw materials and energy otherwise this will be a new source of aggravation and bad feeling between those who have and those who have not, this could probably be a cause for some sort of world war apocalypse. Imagine a world where countries are happy with and respectful toward each other, where growth does not have to happen at the expense of others, where great ideas are for the benefit of everyone with decent but not exaggerated rewards for the result of hard work and clever thinking. One thing we don't have too much control over is objects colliding with this planet from outer space, however the next so called close encounter is in 120 years apparently according to NASA, but the last one missed by 30 times the distance of the moon, so no worries there.

The truth is you never know when it will come or how, only God knows and he's the only one that will ever know until that day comes. It could happen at anytime probably when you least expect it to happen. All these myths about 2012 and the year 6666 are just a bunch of myths that will most likely never occur. For instance, people thought the world would end in 1985 and 1987. Did it? Of course not because people expected it. So the best thing you should to when the apocalypse does happen is always be ready because it could happen anytime. Most importantly don't worry about it unless you have disobayed one of the 10 commandments.

There are a few possible dates, but some ancient civilizations, such as the Maya and Aztec, say that on December 21, 2012, the world will end. It is highly unlikely, though, because in other documents, people thought that the tribes meant that on December 21, 2012, a passing of a certain amount of years will come. The Maya have the Mayan long calender, that ends on that date. But, on Wikipedia, the scientists say:

Maya stelae occasionally show dates beyond 2012. Most of these are in the form of "distance dates", where a Long Count date is given with a distance date to be added. For example, on the Tablet of Inscriptions from Palenque the following Long Count date was found: 9.8.9.13.0 8 Ahau 13 Pop (March 24, 603 Gregorian) with a distance date of 10.11.10.5.8. The resulting date is given as 1.0.0.0.0.8 5 Lamat 1 Mol,[10] or October 21, 4772 --- almost 3,000 years into the future. The king Pacal of Palenque predicted that on this date the eightieth Calendar Round anniversary of his accession will be celebrated, suggesting he did not believe the world would end in 2012.

So, the final answer is simply: I don't know. It may end in 2012, and it may end later, and it may not end for many centuries. We'll just have to wait and see...

Only the father knows when this event will take place, not even His son Christ knows when He will return, neither do the angles.
