It depends on where you live but right now, mid-April, is as good a time as any unless your area is still susceptible to freezing temperatures. Some say to plant after the last scheduled frost and others say to wait 2-3 weeks after that. My chocolate cherry seedlings still need a couple of weeks before they're ready to plant, but if I had sprouted them earlier I would've definitely put them in the ground by now, but I live in Austin, TX where right now is the perfect time. Hope that answers your question.

A tomato plant is an annual plant and it grows, produces tomatoes and dies for one season. There are plants such as perennials that seem to "die" but regrow and bloom again in the spring or summer but a tomato plant is not one of these. So, once you plant your tomato seeds and reap the benefits of their tomatoes they will eventually stop blooming andyielding tomatoes and the plant will die and not come back next season.
A tomato is the ripened fruit that comes from a tomato plant.
