what is the best time of the year to prune liveoaks
The timing varies depending on what USDA hardiness zone you are in. Prune peach trees at the end of winter dormancy, shortly before flowering.
Apple trees require pruning twice a year. In summer shorten all the new shoots by two thirds, in winter prune back to one bud from fruiting spurs.
I will depend on the type of trees. cherry trees should be pruned in the fall but some are best pruned int he summer.
The best time to prune not only fig trees but all fruit trees in the south (including Louisiana) is in February. Luckily fig trees are very productive even without a lot of pruning so you can prune just a bit or a lot depending on what you like. The recommendation for pruning however is to prune dead, damaged and diseased limbs as well as tree limbs that are rubbing together. If you stick to that recommendation you will have a high yield of fruit and a healthy tree.
January and February. The sap begins to run in March and buds form.
Deciduous trees are best pruned after leaf fall. Evergreens should be trimmed either in Spring or late Summer.
The best time to prune an Olive Tree is soon after the fruit has been harvested when the tree is in a more dormant state. Here in Spain many trees are pruned at the same time as the fruit is being picked often with branches cut then shaken for the Olives.
The best time to transplant a peach tree is January. The trees are still dormant from the winter, which will reduce the shock of transplantation. It is also best to transplant a peach tree when it is at least one year old and preferably not after they reach three years old.
I've read to prune after flowering.
Prune Escallonia in early Spring .
Plant the peach tree seedling in the spring so that it will be established by winter. Peach trees do best in sandy, well drained soils and should be fertilized with a nitrogen fertilizer about six weeks after planting.
