Not usually. Most people over 60 don't sleep in or nap a lot. I think it's probably because their bones get achy.
I am an older guy. 78. I think, generally, we are less motivated, when we get older. The urgency to walk, cut the lawn or socialise becomes less important. And we tend to do chores 'in our own good time'. Probably less organised, too. There are exceptions, of course. When youger, we are more motivated by finding a job (income), finding a home, a mate. Then children normally give a busier life and urgency to everything. Lucky folks have a talent, music, sport etc. at which they excel, which in turn provides the wealth to have a better quality of life and freedom.

It's not nessessrily that older people get lazier, their bodies are just slowing down as a result of the harsh effects of the aging process. Dont judge the elderly too harshly, because one day those that are young will not stay youn, they will get old as well if they keep living.
This is a portion of an Awake arricle on jw.org: While seeking to remain reasonably healthy, however, we should be realistic and recognize that there is very little that we can do to slow down the aging process or avoid all sickness. Ecclesiastes chapter 12 paints a vivid picture of "the calamitous days" that accompany old age in the case of imperfect humans. (ReadEcclesiastes 12:1-7.) White hair is compared to the blossom of "the almond tree." Legs are likened to "men of vital energy" that now bend and totter. Ladies who go to a window in search of light and find only darkness are a fitting illustration of dimming eyesight. Since some teeth are missing, "the grinding women have quit working because they have become few."
3 Shaky legs, failing eyesight, and toothless gums are certainly not what God originally purposed for mankind. Moreover, death inherited from Adam is one of "the works of the Devil" that God's Son will undo by means of his Messianic Kingdom. The apostle John wrote: "For this purpose the Son of God was made manifest, namely, to break up the works of the Devil."-1 John 3:8.
It's not necessarily a matter of laziness as people age, but rather a shift in priorities and physical capabilities. Older individuals may have different energy levels and abilities which can impact their activity levels. It's important to consider factors like health conditions, lifestyle changes, and personal motivations when discussing activity levels in older individuals.
Disengagement theory posits that as individuals age, they tend to withdraw from societal roles. This can lead to decreased social interaction, feelings of isolation, and a decline in physical health due to reduced activity and engagement. Additionally, disengagement theory suggests that this process is natural and beneficial for both the individual and society.
Not necessarily. Everyone's experience is different. Some people find their 40s to be a time of self-discovery, career growth, and personal fulfillment. It's important to focus on the positive aspects of every stage of life.
Using steroids can lead to strokes and heart attacks by increasing blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and the risk of blood clots. Steroids can also cause the heart muscle to grow abnormally, leading to potential heart problems. Additionally, steroids can affect the balance of hormones in the body, further increasing the risk of cardiovascular events.
Men typically lose muscle mass as they age due to a combination of factors, including a decrease in testosterone levels, reduced physical activity, and lower protein intake. These changes can lead to muscle atrophy and a decrease in muscle strength and size over time. Regular resistance training and a balanced diet can help mitigate muscle loss with age.
In a medical context, being a vegetable refers to a person who is in a persistent vegetative state, also known as a state of wakeful unconsciousness, where they are not aware of their surroundings but still exhibit basic reflexes. This term is now considered outdated and dehumanizing, and it is more appropriate to use terms like "vegetative state" or "unresponsive wakefulness syndrome."
