That is a compromise.

Everyone agrees to accept something less than they initially wanted in order to keep everyone happy. The goal is to ensure everyone involved gets something satisfactory.

For example: 3 people may want to eat an entire Pizza, but compromise by agreeing to eat 2 slices each.
