In Windows 7, to turn on a screen saver password, go to
Control Panel
then Hardware and Sound
then Power Options\System Settings
under Password protection, you'll probably have to click : "Change settings currently unavailable", then click the little circle next to "Require a password"
and the "Save changes" button.
