I was told by a dealership that the 3.5l 5 cyl in my 2004 GMC Canyon has a timing chain and does not need to be changed.
Each 60K miles.
According to the Gates website ( they make timing belts etcetera ) For the 1.6 litre four cylinder engine in a 2005 Hyundai Accent ( the timing belt is changed at 60,000 miles )
Toyota 4runner 2005 v6 has the timing chain so don/t need to change
The 4 cylinder has a timing chain that does not require replacement and is designed to last the life of the engine.
Must be changed every 105,000 miles. This is an interference engine.
It has a timing chain. It never needs be changed.
never found a fuel filter and it has no timing belt
No, it has a timing belt which must be changed at the 105k/7 year interval. Should cost around $1000 at an Acura dealer.
Is it worth it to change if I want to drive it up to 175k miles?
yes it has a cambelt, and should be changed every 60,000mls. 4/27/2011 - answer 2005 models and earlier had a timing belt. 2006 models and newer have a timing chain.
The timing belt in the 2005 Honda Accord 2.2 CDTI Model does not need to be changed as a matter of routine maintenance. The timing belt on a vehicle is not usually worked on unless there is a problem with the timing.
