The RSVP card and its envelope are mailed with the invitation.

It should be returned (usually in the supplied envelope) before the specified date or a minimum of one month before the date of the wedding (which ever comes first).

  • When sending out wedding invitations the guests should be give two to three months to reply so they can keep that date open or juggle their schedules in order to attend the wedding. This also helps guests who are coming from out of town and may need to fly in for the wedding. If you do not receive all your replies from the guests by the second month then it is up to the bride's mother as well as the groom's mother (with the guests they have invited) to phone the guests to be sure if they are coming or not. The bride, her parents and the groom's parents need to know how many guests will be at the wedding reception in order to pay for 'place settings' because there is a charge for each guest's plate for the meal served and, how much liquor and beverages to order.

Ettiquette says to use reception invitations when the wedding ceremony is small and private. Send the invations out six weeks before the event and use rsvp cards with stamped reply envelopes and pre-addressed too. Happy wedding.

A month before the wedding. That way people know where to go and when it is and so they have time to prepare for the wedding. If you gave them out a week before then they might be busy and they cant make it.

We recommend the maximum time possible for a destination wedding. Many guests will have to arrange time off work and or save up to be able to attend. Many of the destination weddings we host sent invitations, or save the date cards, anything up to a year in advance. Remember most people can't fly off for what becomes a vacation as well as a wedding at short notice.

Typically you send invitations for your wedding somewhere in between 2 to 4 months before your wedding date. Any earlier and people forget, any later and people will already have plans.

Plus...

Vendors generally require at LEAST 1 month advance for your final numbers. If you send it and ask for answers 1.5 to 2 months prior to your wedding, you have ample time to contact the people who have not responded and ask them if they plan on attending.

Where can I buy affordable and well designed seal and send wedding invitations?

A place to buy nice seal and send wedding invitations are at a local wedding shop. Also, one should ask a wedding planner. Websites that have affordable invitations are hard to find. Usually the cost per invitation decreases when the amount of invitation increases. Do not be scammed by deals that seem too good to be true because they probably are! Congrats!
