A true scholar of religious books and manuscripts will eventually find conflicting accounts of so-called historical religious accounts. The scholar would encounter mistranslations of ancient words that change the meaning of passages as they have been handed down through multi-translations. The scholar would find bibles and biblical accounts that were created by scribes to please their masters, their religious orders or the high placed official who contracted the work. They would find that of the thousands of “gospels†and other manuscripts available at the time the New Testament was produced, some were very selectively included and most were discarded in order to pass a particular doctrine forward.
As for the Old Testament, the religious scholar would find it is a collection of the writings of various people at various times and bound together much later in order to promote and maintain a certain way of life that, in part, favored men and relegated women to a perpetual inferior status.
It can certainly be assumed that such a study, performed by a certain type of scholar, might lead to the realization that the “religious†writings of the ages are only man-made and there is really no supernatural being that controls the destiny of humankind.
Doubtless some do.

No, and actually some people who have straight A's spent so much time studying and learning from books that they neglected to learn how to communicate with people and socialize. In the long run, being able to connect with people is more important (and more financially rewarding) than having a straight A transcript.
