The Mid-Atlantic-Ridge is where two of Earth's plates split apart. The Mid-Atlantic-Ridge was formed along a divergent boundary where seafloor spreading is taking place.
Or
Constructive or divergent. The ridge formed is of basaltic rock type (though this is a generalisation), and is a source of volcanic activity. Iceland was formed as a result of the sea-floor spreading.

The mid-ocean ridge is formed along a divergent or constructive plate boundary between two plates of oceanic crust. A classic example is the Mid-Atlantic Ridge where the Eurasian and African Plates are moving away from the North and South American Plates.
As an oceanic plate sinks into the mantle at a convergent boundary it causes rocks to melt. Some of the newly formed magma will migrate upward to volcanoes, that have formed along the convergent boundaries, and erupt.
Iceland is splitting along a Mid-Atlantic Ridge a divergent boundary between the North American and Eurasian Plates.
Divergent boundaries because the plates are going away from one another.
The mid-ocean ridge is formed along a divergent or constructive plate boundary between two plates of oceanic crust.
Galeras Volcano is formed along Nazca and South American plates. It is a convergent boundary and is oceanic-continental. If you need more info. Go to geology.com
