Sounds like you have a dead battery. Put it on a charger, see if it will take a charge. If it does, charge it and try to bring it back to reserve capacity, if not it's time to take a trip and get a replacement battery.
I am working on the same problem right now. I think I have found most of the problem. first run a jumper wire from the battery to the small wire terminal on the starter motor, if the starter works then you can check the voltage at the wire that goes on this terminal (with the key in the start position.) If it is not battery voltage and the starter worked with the jumper wire it is probably on of the safety switch. I think there are three. seat, brake pedal, mower switch.
good luck
The starter solenoid and/or drive pinion is engaging, but the starter motor itself is not turning. Battery is out of charge/faulty or engine has seized.
When the battery does not have enough voltage to turn the starter over it will sometimes make a clicking noise.
what kind of noise do u hear. clicking, poping, or skweek etc.
A bad cv joint/axle shaft on the front will make a clicking noise when turning.
When turning left or right, you will hear a clicking noise.
cv axels if it does it when you are turning
if clicking is in turns than a front axle needs replaced. if turning right it is your left axle-- turning left it is your right axle!! the clicking is the cv joint in axle.
YEP IT WILL AND MIGHT HERE A CLICKING NOISE WHEN TURNING ALSO
CV Joints are the most common cause.
all of them do it theres just a bolt on each of the two front wheels that touch when turning all the way
The clicking noise you can hear is the starter solenoid clicking into place. If the starter motor does not turn the engine immediately, it is probably the best place to look. it sounds like the starter motor is faulty.
The drive shaft may need to be tightened
CVC joint needs replacing. This can be dangerous, have it repaired.
