While this looks like the name of a broadcasting, newspaper, or other media company, it really refers to a kind of flower: the antennaria media is a species of flowering plants, related to the daisy family; it grows in western Canada and the western United States, and is generally called the Rocky Mountain pussytoes. According to botany textbooks, this species was first identified circa 1895, although it may have existed earlier than that. (Note that the word "media" is Latin for "middle;" using it as a way to refer to broadcasting & print was not common till the early 1960s.)
