DQ or Dairy Queen started in 1940 when the first store opened in Joliet Illinois.
J.F. McCullough and his son Alex were experimenting on ways to serve ice cream.
The pair found that serving the ice cream at 23F was better than solid at -5F. It was "soft" and easily released from a spigot. The naming of the store at the time was just a catchy name thought up by the proprietors.
3 men created a group is england in 1954 called "icecream" they made alkinds of differnt flavors. they stuck toogether and earned alot of money! one of the men named salvester met a women named thalia. they got married and had 3 kids. the 2 men were very jeolous andfound another woman and called her there"dairy queen" they started a new busness and sold alot of icecream. that name stuck and came to the united states and now there are places all over the world that sell ice cream called "dairy queeb"
