Nintendo was invented in 1889 in Kyoto, Japan, by a man called Fusajiro Yamauchi. Back then, Nintendo didn't make Video Games, but instead made playing cards. Nintendo didn't start making games until 1980.
To be exact-Nintendo was formed on the 23rd September according to nintendos wikipedia page.interestingly the translation to hanafuda cards,the brand of cards that made was flower cards
