This was written by King David before he himself died [obviously!]
The verses Psalm ch16 vs9 & 10 are:-
Psalms 16
9 Therefore my heart is glad and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will dwell securely.
10 For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol; Nor will You allow Your Holy One to undergo decay.
The single word "sheol" (in the phrase "abandon my soul to Sheol") refers to 3 separate locations:-
-the grave
-Abode of the wicked
-Abode of the good
David is thanking God in advance that he himself is not going to the "Abode of the wicked" and this Psalm is dual: David was writing both about himself but it is also prophetic of Jesus Christ's destination after death. This Psalm was written by King David before he himself died [obviously!] , and as he died in in 970BC [Ussher], it had to be written no more than a couple of years before that.

King James had very little to do with the scriptures except for the fact that he gave instructions to the translators. Other translations have been made from Greek and Latin translations and if the KJV is compared to them you will see there is not a lot of difference. As for Satan, he is not all powerful but God is .All scripture is inspired by God and written by men as they were directed by the Holy Spirit. God would not allow Satan to corrupt His word completely one should not read but study to find translation or concept errors that most over look to know the truth.
