When was Sweden found?

The founding of the nation Sweden is complex, but it was only in 1523 when Gustavo I Vasa was crowned King, that the Kingdom of Sweden had one ruling king that control the whole territory. However Sweden as a more loose nation did exist long before that date, for example at the Kunghalla meeting in 1101 the Kings of Denmark, Norway and Sweden acknowledged each other as separate nations.

Sweden was first founded at the end of the 11th century, but between the years 1397-1523 Sweden was in a personal union with Denmark and Norway, this union was called the Kalmar Union and Denmark was the leading nation of this union.

But in 1521 a revolt started in Sweden (there had been revolts earlier but none of them had been successfull), in Swedish history this is called "Svenska Befrielsekriget" (Swedish war of liberation) and it lasted until 1523.
