Microdrive is a miniature 1" hard disk designed to fit in a CompactFlash (CF) Type II slot. In 2008 Hitachi and Seagate released 8GB versions. (See Wikipedia, "Microdrive")
A Microdrive was a tiny little disk drive and an alternative to audio cassette tapes that were used to store and load data on the popular ZX Spectrum home computers. They were pioneered and sold by Sinclair Research.Microdrives plugged in to the popular ZX Spectrum home computers as well as being a standard fixture in the Sinclair QL, their "business" computer. They could load data faster than a conventional cassette recorder/player. And they were cheap - they sold for just £50 at a time when rival floppy drives from Sony cost over £200 and Commodore's floppy disk drive was £400! However, they were plagued by reliability problems. There's an excellent article about them on The Register. See the link below.
A common make of microdrive is Everio, another one is Hitachi. One can purchase Hitachi microdrives from the Amazon website and it is possible to view genuine consumer reviews on the Amazon website.
Exact same thing. The official name is ZX-14R not ZX-14.
An SD Card will not work in a Compact Flash or Microdrive slot. You need to have an SD Card drive slot or a multi format memory reader which is compatible with SD Cards.
Zx-14. But not by much
