Body parts were always used as the first 'weights and measures'.
An example from England is that we still measure horses' height in 'hands', now accepted as four inches (about 10 cm) and defined as the width of a full-grown man's hand.
Examples that we don't use are many, since England changed to the metric system, but include 'inch' (the distance from the knuckle to the tip of the right thumb, 'foot' (self explanatory) 'yard, (the distance from shoulder to tip of the right arm [note that a 'yard' as a sailing term is the bit that goes across the mast for the sail to be suspended from])
Therre are similar examples from cultures across the world.
English weights and measures were eventualy standardised because, naturaly, these 'measures' varied just as much as people do, so buying from a 'big' man was likely to be more advantageous to the buyer than a similar purchase from a 'small' man, and vice-versa.

By unit of length and distance and conversion ,we can say that units are used to measure length are meters ,cm,dm,dam,mm
A ruler is used to measure distances. Feet, inches, meters, centimeters, and millimeters.
rulerMany early units of measurement were based on human proportions, such as a stride (roughly a yard) or the length or an arm. A hand (4 inches) is still used to measure the height of horses and ponies. The first join of the thumb is roughly 1 inch.
Kilometers are typically used to measure distance, so you can measure things like the length of a road or the distance between two cities in kilometers.
People used to measure with their body parts, such as the length or width of their hand, the length of the foot, etc.
they used there feet and other parts of their body
The length of body parts varies between people, therefore it would be imprecise to measure in those units because they are not fixed.
A king's foot used to be the standard of measurement, now there is a Bureau of Measurements in the Washington DC that has standard measurement's that everyone else uses.
Parts of the body and statues were used as measurements for length. Weights were made out f stone, bronze, or pottery.
