In 1981 PE teachers Dave Hudson and Mary Jo Andrysiak invented the game Mat Ball. It is played with four (4) tumbling mats used as bases. players must run the bases twice and a score is awarded as the player touches the 4th mat. Dave and Mary Jo teach at Pennfield High School Battle Creek Michigan . Dave has since retired. He also has a Michigan State High School Football Championship in 1992. Mary Jo says this is her last year. We hope not as the world is a better place with MJ teaching our children.
