The English saddle was first made in the late iron age period, but these were only padded layers. In 200BC, the first tree of a saddle was made in Asia. IN the third century AD a leather saddle was developed by the Sarmatians, and soon after came the metal stirrup and spur. After 3000 years of development, we got the saddle that we use today. Hope this was helpful :-)!

What is equivalent to western saddle horn on English saddle?

There is no equivalent to a saddle horn on an English saddle. The English saddle has no horn to any equivalent. The Western saddle was made for the cowboys, who needed something to help anchor the rope to after roping a cow. This is where the Western saddle was invented, designed for comfort for long days of hard riding in the saddle, and for usefulness, which is why it has all the little straps to tie things to, perfect room for saddle bags and such, and with the saddle horn having the direct purpose of dallying the rope. The English saddle was not used by cowboys, and therefore, there was no use for a saddle horn, so there is nothing there.

What is the difference between a hunt saddle and an English saddle?

Well any type of saddle can be treeless. Typically a english saddle will be made with a spring tree to offer support and comfort. Treeless saddles can be tricky to fit sometimes, but then so can any saddle in general.

How do you make English crafted tack on horseisle?

For an English saddle pad, you will need 4 cloths, 10 pieces of cotton and 15 of either berries, dandilions, wildflowers, etc. For an English bridle, you will need 5 leather straplings, 2 small buckles and 1 English bit. As for a saddle, it's a litte more complicated. first you need to get a wooden saddle form crafted. This is done by an NPC that I can't seem to remember. You will also need a English saddle base (which is made FROM the saddle form), then craft an English girth, and then to make the saddle you will need 1 English saddle base, 1 English girth and 2 stirrups. *whew!* you can make all these on Rider. -GreatLeonandi, Pinto server

What are the differences between English an western tack?

There are many differences. The western saddle is made for comfort, and meant to have a good deep seat for fast and sharp turns in barrel racing. An English saddle is more proper and is fit for ease with jumping.
