If you are referring to the Atomic Bomb. the first one was dropped (tested) at Alamagordo, New Mexico on July 16th, 1945.
The Trinity test device on July 16 was not and could not be dropped (it had no ballistic casing and they wanted to take careful measurements on it) it was detonated on the top of a 100 foot steel tower. This was much lower than the altitude of the 2 airbursts over Japan resulting in the fireball touching ground, melting it and picking up significant amounts of sand which became radioactive fallout. The fallout from Trinity was likely 2 orders of magnitude worse than the bombs dropped on Japan.
The first Atomic Bomb actually dropped in the US was the 1951 Ranger Able shot (yield 0.5Kton), which opened the Nevada Test Site. All 5 shots in this series were airdrops from B-50 bombers, with yields from 0.5Kton to 22Kton.

The first atomic bomb dropped inside the US borders was test shot Ranger Able at the Nevada Test Site. It was a MK-4 dropped from a B-50 on January 27, 1951. The yield was about 1KTon (expected 1.3KTon) at an altitude of 1060 feet.
All of the other 4 shots of the Ranger series (Baker-1, Easy, Baker-2, Fox) were also B-50 airdrops. Yields ranged from 1KTon to 22KTon.
