∙ 11y agoThe sugar cookie, at least what modern society thinks of when they think of "sugar cookie", has been around since the mid-1700s, where it was first made by Protestant settlers in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. The first sugar cookies were made somewhere around the 7th century AD in the Middle East by a baker who used them to test the temperature of his oven and then sold the tiny cakes, or cookies.
