Many adults know it is nothing to be shameful of, and embrace the concept of Cartoons as a form of entertainment. Shows such as Family Guy and South Park are strong evidence of this, as are many animes - these shows are fully intended for mature audiences and are often scaled back for westerners, to be displayed as "children's television" - Yu-Gi-Oh and other such programs are perfect examples of this, as anyone who has read the manga or watched the original unedited anime will tell you. Additionally, who do you thik makes all of these cartoons? It sure isn't a group of kids dealing with the complications of drawing, animation, marketing and airing the shows.

You know, adults have been around the block a couple of times. For most, there were cartoons when they were adolescents. So they know the problems associated with watching cartoons that you may just be too immature to understand. Watching cartoons means you are not exercising your imagination, or devising interesting ways to keep yourself occupied. You are relying on external influences only for entertainment, and thus your brain is not being given the opportunity to develop properly.

your right there is nothing wrong with only watching cartoons and anime but everyone has their own likes/dislikes and opinions. i am 19 and only watch anime and have the same opinion about soaps and those kind of programmes as people do about anime. so there will always be people that will think that's its wrong but they are just being closed minded

Why do 18 year olds have to understand that watching only cartoons is not good for them?
there is nothing wrong with watching only cartoons when you are 18 or older. everyone has different things that they like to watch. you could say the same thing about soap's couldn't you some people get so transfixed by them. I'm 19 and i watc only anime and what people don't realize is that some of the story lines are a lot more complex than other tv programes and are aimed at adults (and im not speaking about hentai).
