Sure, you can get a tan from it, since the Sun is a big fusion power reactor. In the near future we will be able to build fusion reactors here on Earth. Google "ITER" to see how it's going. In the meantime I suppose you can say the fusion power is actually solar energy.
The US Navy no longer has nuclear powered cruisers or destroyers. The only nuclear powered surface ships are aircraft carriers. In general, the nuclear powered cruisers/destroyers could achieve speeds in excess of 30 knots (34 Miles Per Hour). Aircraft carriers must be able to achieve the same speed in order for them to be able to launch and recover aircraft.
If we are able control the fusion reactions then nuclear energy is the most preffered form of energy otherwise solar energy is prefferable.
