The Celsius scale is used for measuring temperature in all scientific applications and for common temperature measurements (weather, cooking, etc.) in all countries except the United States. A few small countries such as Belize and Jamaica have a mixture of both scales.

In other words, the only time you would state a temperature in degrees F. would be if you were in the US and looking at a weather report or measuring temperature in a non-research situation.
