Breathing is done by your diaphragm. When you breathe in, your diaphragm tightens (contracts) and moves downward so your lungs can expand. When you breathe out (exhale) your diaphragm relaxes (expands) and moves up into your chest.
It's a muscle in your chest that expands your chest size when you breath in and decreases size when you breathe out. (i think you might want to double check.). Hope this helps!

Plants breathe Co2 and we breathe Oxygen.
The diafram expands and deflates because you breathe in and out. When you breathe out your diafram deflates. When you breathe in your diafram expands. :)

Annelids breathe through their body wall and parapodia expands the surface area of the animal.Annelids, or earthworms, do not have lungs to breathe with. These creatures actually breathe through their skin and body wall.
as i learned in science, the lungs expands when you breathe in air.by: josephine laurente
when you breath in your diaphragm muscle expands your lungs to take in air. when you breath out your diaphragm muscle pushes on your lungs to let out the air.
Kangaroos have a fully developed respiratory and pulmonary system, which means they breathe through their nose and lungs. Their diaphragm expands allowing oxygen to enter the lungs then contracts pushing excess air out.

The diaphragm is the main muscle involved with the respiratory system. It either contracts or expands to allow air in or out of the lungs, which makes you breathe. The diaphragm is the main muscle involved with the respiratory system.
