The most likely cause is the transmission breather is plugged with dirt. It's normally on the top of the housing. You have to unscrew it, clean it with compressed air and varsol then reinstall. Or just go buy a new one.
Get engine warm (by running a few minutes) and check the level on tranny dipstick and add until it is in the proper range. Use proper tranny fluid, it usually says what to use on dipstick.
On some the dipstick is a dealer only tool, some have a fill plug on the side,
the tranny itself is the reservoir, check the level on the tranny dipstick to see that it is full.
There is no dipstick. To check the tranny fluid requires a special procedure.
I have a 2000 Malibu and it does not have a tranny dipstick. You have to check fluid under car, there is a check hole on the trans. It's a pain in the butt.
no tiburon has a dipstick for the tranny fluid. you have to take off the fill plug and check with your finger.

Most automatic transmissions require the car be parked on the flat, engine running and idling in park. Check fluid level with the transmission dipstick, make sure it is not the engine oil dipstick. Tranny fluid is reddish colored. If it is low, you need to add fluid down the dipstick tube. Requires a fine funnel.
You pour the tranny fluid into the transmission dipstick tube. Use a long skinny funnel if you need to. and remember to always check the tranny fluid while the truck is running and has been warmed up at least 60 seconds.
In the 2000 voyager, you will needto find the yellow dipstick and remove it , then get a funnel and put it in the hole and pour tranny fluid in. make sure you have the vehicle running to check the fluid level.. a littleless isokbut to much will damage the tranny. you are welcome, Paul
