The vent tube could be clogged.
It is in the bottom of the transmission. You will have to remove transmission pan and you will see it.
Where you get your dipstik from
Under the fill cap of the pump.
there is none. you need to fill the system via the overflow tank.
The fill tube is only about 1 inch around, and is at the back of the engine right at the firewall just to the left of the middle of the engine. Look a little to the left of the back of the air cleaner cover. You need to have the truck running and in park with the parking brake engaged. Add a little then check it to see if it's full yet. Be patient, it can take a long time and a lot of fluid if it is very low.
Up to the fill hole, like a diff. Probably 2 liters plus a bit?
under the truck, on the side passenger side of the transmission case is a screw-in bolt for check/fill
Assuming you have the 2.2 L engine, the dipstick is attached to the oil fill cap.
5 QTS. with new filter. Have seen some hold 6 start with 5 first.

I need to where the transmission fill is located on my 1993 chevy caprice classic.
For a pan drop it's usually 3 1/2 to 4 quarts, but you have to check and fill to the proper level. For the whole transmission it can be as much as 12 or more, you have to fill it partially and then keep adding to get the proper level.
