Never-mind, I just realized the reason why the search box does that. It's because I dragged the insertion point too far past the end of the search box.
top dead center is when the press has traveled upward as far as it can, when it reaches that point it will stop momentarily before it starts ot travel downward again. the point where it stops moving upward is called top dead center. the same goes for the downward movement . when the press moves down as far as it can, it will stop momentarily before it starts to move back up again, this point is called bottom bead center.
