inside of the car is a component called an evaporator. this component has air flowing through it. due to normal operation, fine dust and any air born particles stick to it because it gets moist then mold can start growing on it. locate the a/c evaporator and spry it with easy-off oven cleaner (lemon scented recommended) let stand for about 15 minutes, respray, turn on a/c with car running, let vent to outside atmosphere until excess vapors are gone.

How-to fix air conditioning in 2002 for f150 will not get cold even when you turn the knob?

if you turn the selector switch of your aircon and only fan is working and no cold air coming out of the diffuser have your aircon fuse connected to the compressor check. If the fuse is not blown then have your thermostat be set to colder position. If the compressor still does not work have the thermostat be check by an auto aircon tech. If the thermostat is ok then look for any sign of oil in the piping of your aircon system possibly there is leak which causes the pressure switch not to function. If theres no refrigerant in the system the compressor will not be activated by the pressure switch.

What could cause the aircon switch light not to work or the aircon not to start working in a 1996 Nissan Pickup?

assume you have checked the bulb ....... many auto aircon systems shutdown on loss of refrigerant gases to protect the compressor. Been gassed recently?

Kia pride overheats when AC is turned on.?

Answer: I think the aircon does not do anything with the overheat. vehicles are designed to run normal weather aircon is turned on or off. Check your engine's cooling system which comprised of raidiator, fan, fan motor relay switch and temperature switch. When cooling is not doing the job, you will not noticed this when you are running on the highway because your speed relative to the air cools the radiator. during traffic, no air is flowing so engine gets hotter and hotter. If you'll turn on your aircon, the time your engine overheats becomes shorter because the engine has increased its load. Kia's cooling system control is very simple. the circuit is composed of: 1. fuse 2. relay switch 3. temperature sensor switch 4. Fan motor which means you'll only have to check 4 components. When your aircon is on, radiator motor fan does not run continuously because it has a separate control. The load attributed by the aircon will be sensed by the temperature control and thus run the radiator fan but not continuously. Hope it helps

Why is the blower motor on a Kia Rio not running?

To expound on this. What happens is resistance builds in the circuitry behind the switch and overheats the metallic elements inside the switch, causing the plastic in the switch to melt. This causes sporadic operation at any speed or only at certain speeds, and the owner may have to work with the fan speed switch itself to make it work. The underlying problems that CAUSES the resistance may be several things, but the root of the problem is usually the blower motor going bad. This builds resistance inside the blower motor, which also builds in the circuit. Replacing the fanspeed switch will only mask the problem and burn out the new switch. The proper fix for this instance is the motor. EDIT: I have researched this and found that it seems to be the resistor that causes the majority of these problems, rather than the blower motor. Do know, however, that either of these can cause this problem.

What causes the doors of a VW Golt to lock on and off while driving?

Depending on what year the car is the doors will automatically lock and what would cause them to unlock could be a faulty door latch There is a switch in the lock. probably that switch is broken in your car. If the inside lamp doesn't work when you open the door with that problem, that means the switch is broken.

What causes a dimmer switch to heat up?

Lower levels of light are what causes the dimmer switch to heat up. The extra electricity that is not being used when the light is lowered is sent to the circuitry of the dimmer switch. The heating up is normal.
