My '01 has a built in radar detector, the power indication light is green and next to the headlamp switch and guess what it chirps ;-), there is also a red led indicator above the up and down buttons on the cluster frame. There will be a rotary knob under the dash to turn it on and off and adjust the volume if this is what you have.
