Most likely: Bad bendex spring or starter solenoid. May be replaceable independently, but frequently integral part of starter. But, before anything else just make sure all your connections, including those at the battery, are clean and tight.
Your 1976 Corvette wil not turn over sometimes its like there is no battery it seems like it does this after it gets warm not sure what to do please help you?
