Sounds like the ignition switch.
If it isn't starting you have another problem.
When you hear a clicking noise is most likely a battery problem however you stated that the battery was replaced so i suggest you check the condition of your cables look for rust or corrosion etc.
po320 indicates acrankshaft position sensor problem should probably be replaced
I had this problem with my 99 durango (5.9 L engine). I replaced the PCM which helped, but the problem wasn't solved until I installed new spark plugs. Runs like a top now!
Doesn't have one. Mine was behind the glove box. Replaced it no problem.
Had the same problem on my '00 4.7 liter. Turns out it was the throttle position sensor. Sensor was replaced at dealer problem disappeared.
you would probably assume the battery wasnt the problem. Ask yourself what made you so certain the battery was the problem.
I had the same problem and it turned out that the starter had to be replaced. Replacement is from below and is not that difficult. If your truck is a 4x4 remove the skid plates first to access the starter. I had a similar problem; after starting my Trooper with jump start cables my Durango wouldn´t start just would do a ratchet noise. Asked my mecanich and told me to clean the battery poles and "voilá" started with no problem at all.
I had this problem on my disco 1. Turned out to be the alternator, which was replaced and the problem was fixed.
If the noise is caused by a Mechanical problem, disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it will do NOTHING to fix the problem.
Have it scanned to determine problem
i had a problem with that on a dodge neon and i did the same things you did to fix the problem but it kept shutting down. Well to make a long story short it tuned out to be the computer( brainbox). replaced it and have not had a problem. This was common to the neon not sure on the durango but mabey something to look into
